Torii Dining Table
Inspired by the arched Torii god-gates of the japanese Shinto temples this dining table was designed to make the most out of a modest size dining-rooms. With the legs set wide apart this modern extendable dining table provides sufficient leg space all around. Twin-frame sliding mechanism allows the table to be pulled out for an additonal 40cm exposing an extension leaf stored within the inner frame. The Black Walnut top is constructed to appear to be floating. It is further embellished with a fine Birch stringing accent running along its perimeter and the extending leaf. Both the main and the extending surface are cut from the same boards ensuring continuous and uninterrupted grain. Great care is taken when constructing the top so it may appear as if was cut from a single board.
